Who is Plaid?

At Plaid, we enable you to share your data with the apps and services you want, protect against fraud and abuse, and enhance your overall digital finance experience. Our mission is to unlock financial freedom for everyone and, one of the ways we believe we can best accomplish this mission is to provide you with control of and access to your own financial data. When you sign up for a financial app or service, oftentimes the app or service will request access to your financial data in order to provide services to you. For example, if you use a budgeting app, the app may ask you if you want to share data from your bank account to help you track expenses in the app. This is where Plaid comes in. We collect the data to power the services you’ve chosen and, when requested, securely share it with the app you’re using and establish a secure connection that you control.
